

{"id":930,"date":"2012-10-06T14:08:30","date_gmt":"2012-10-06T13:08:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fabsk.eu\/blog\/?p=930"},"modified":"2015-12-06T13:21:32","modified_gmt":"2015-12-06T11:21:32","slug":"berlin-paris-tokyo-and-their-respective-size","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fabsk.eu\/blog\/2012\/10\/06\/berlin-paris-tokyo-and-their-respective-size\/","title":{"rendered":"Berlin, Paris, Tokyo, and their respective size"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I asked myself what were the respective size of Berlin, Paris and Tokyo inside of the <a title=\"Berlin Ringbahn\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Berlin_Ringbahn\">Ringbahn (S41\/S42)<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Yamanote_Line\">Yamanote<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Boulevards_of_the_Marshals_%28Paris%29\">boulevards des Mar\u00e9chaux<\/a> (that are between 33 et 37km long), so I know which one is the longest to visit by feet.<a href=\"http:\/\/fabsk.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/berlin-paris-tokyo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Berlin Paris Tokyo\" src=\"http:\/\/fabsk.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/berlin-paris-tokyo-1024x900.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"513\" \/><\/a>This image was created using the <em>pifom\u00e8tre<\/em> method (rough approximation). I have made screen-shots on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.openstreetmap.org\/\">Openstreetmap.org<\/a>, and I have resized them to the same scale.<\/p>\n<p>By selecting the inner zones of each city, I get the following values:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paris: 646 000 pixels<\/li>\n<li>Berlin: 638 000 pixels<\/li>\n<li>Tokyo: 463 000 pixels<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Obviously, the comparison is futile.
